Cape Vulture specialist assessment, draft protocol.
The Minister of Forestry, Fisheries and the Environment hereby notifies the public of the publication for comment of the Cape Vulture Specialist Assessment Draft Protocol. This protocol will set out the requirements for a specialist assessment to be undertaken in an area identified as having a very high or high sensitivity for Cape Vulture collision with a wind turbine. This protocol and the supporting risk map have been developed to further protect Cape Vultures from collisions with wind energy facilities.
Members of the public are invited to submit written comments or inputs within 30 days of publication of the draft protocal in Government Gazette No. 49028, notice no. 3715 of 28 July 2023 to the following address:
