Information regarding new data releases, GIS events, commenting notices and timeframes could be accessed through this site.

The Department of Forestry, Fisheries and the Environment (DFFE) works with the Committee on Spatial Information (CSI) and the broader GIS community to define the data architecture, systems, standards, policies and processes for a fully integrated and effective spatial data infrastructure for the country.

National Environmental Web Based Screening Tool

Protected Areas Register, SA

 

The Protected Areas Register was developed for reporting and mapping purposes of Protected Areas in SA.

All legally declared Protected Areas (based on the latest SAPAD data release), can be searched and viewed through the use of the

 Protected Areas Register (PAR) Interactive Map Viewer

Users can also generate reports and statistics from this Map Viewer.
